Safeguarding Statement

Our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and adults at risk within the Ogbia Community UK.
Draft for review. This is placeholder wording. It has been structured to reflect UK GDPR principles and good practice, but it must be reviewed and approved by a qualified UK legal or data-protection professional before the association relies on it.

Our commitment

Ogbia Community UK is committed to the safety and wellbeing of everyone who takes part in our activities, and in particular of children, young people and adults at risk. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

In practice

  • Children attending association events remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian unless a supervised activity has been formally arranged.
  • Adults working directly with children in an organised activity will be subject to appropriate checks.
  • No identifiable images of children are published without parental consent.
  • The members area is for adults; accounts are not offered to under-18s.

Designated safeguarding contact

PLACEHOLDER: the committee must name a designated safeguarding lead and give a direct contact route here.

If a child is at immediate risk

If you believe a child or adult is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999. You can also contact your local authority children's services, or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
